UN should pay attention to safeguard Muslim minority in India

Suleman Khurshid is a renowned name in Indian politics. He remained an Indian Foreign Minister and also an important leader of the Indian political Party Congress. On 15 November 2021, the goons of Bajrang Dal attacked his house located at Ram Garh, Distt Nainital of Uttarkhand. Sundar Ram was the custodian of the house. At about 1 pm a group of extremist Hindus kept chanting slogans against Islam and Muslims. Sundar Ram observed the whole situation from within the house. After some time Hindu extremists started breaking the central door of the house. Sundar Ram tried to stop them by getting out of the house; Hindu goons took daughter-in-law of Sundar ram on gunpoint while others poured kerosene over the central gate and set it on fire. People gathered on the spot; a few extremist Hindus started aerial firing. People fled to save their lives. Hindu extremists arme3d with guns remained there for some time so that no one can try to put off the fire. When most of the part of the house was in the flames, Hindu extremists victoriously left the area. The news of the attack on Suleman Khurshid’s house at Nainital and setting it on fire spread across India through social media. When the representatives of Indian media reached the spot, the house was fully engulfed by the flames. When State Police reached there, the house has been already burnt; Police gathered empties of pistol bullets, examined Sundar Ram and eyewitnesses. Sundar Ram told Police that he can identify one of the Hindu extremists; the Police entered his name in the FIR along with 20 unknown persons and left the area claiming that attackers will be apprehended soon.

               One of the neighbours of Suleman Khurshid told journalists that the leader of the attacking Hindu extremists is the local leader of Bajrang Dal; he is well known by the locals but Police are not capable to apprehend him. Despite, being his house ablaze by Hindu extremists Suleman Khurshid does not term this attack as Hinduism but an attack over Hinduism and the Hindu religion. According to Indian media, this is the reaction of the book written by Suleman Khurshid about the blazing of Babari Masjid's “Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times”. In this book, Suleman Khurshid has termed Hindus involved in the destruction of Masjid as ISIS, Bokoharam in Africa, and other Jihadi organizations. While reacting over the publishing of the book, BJP termed the reign of the Congress party as a partially Islamic reign and declared Suleman Khurshid as a foreigner; further said that India does not need loyal like Suleman Khurshid. On the other hand, Muslim organizations also expressed concerns over thinking of Suleman Khurshid over Jihad. Perhaps, Suleman Khurshid criticized Jihad keeping in view the reaction of extremist Hindus. Hindu extremists have already declared that Muslims have no place in India and they often start genocide of Muslims in various provinces of India.

               Before blazing, the house of Suleman Khurshid Hindu extremists expressed their anger through statements. Hindtuwa organization Hindu Parishad's President Vishnu Gupta filed a writ petition in Delhi High Court to stop the sale of the book. According to the writ petition, the lawyers have said that Suleam Khurshid has insulted the Hindu majority of the country and attempted to incite minorities against BJP in the upcoming elections; therefore, the vast interest of the India book should be banned. Vishnu Gupta did not stop here, he wrote letters to Indian Internal Minister Amit Shah, Governor New Delhi Ambad Bejal, and CM Arwind Kajirwal that Suleman Khurshid has attacked the Hindu religion and insulted the beliefs of RSS and BJP therefore he should be arrested and sentenced an exemplary punishment. Minister of Power RK Singh said that Congress has gone to such low standard that they are silent over the insult of the Hindu religion and linking the Hindu religion with terrorism for which every Indian is ashamed. Internal Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narotam Mushera claimed that Suleman Khurshid is the agent of those who chant the slogan of the division of India and works for it. These are those people who in reply to Hospitable India reply with Nortious India. He also criticized secular JHidnus that they should ask this from the Indian Supreme Court that has termed Hindutva as the lifestyle of Hindus.

               According to Indian media, such statements of Hindu leaders led to the attack and fire of Suleman Khurshid's house. Is BJP inciting hatred and genocide of Muslims in India for upcoming elections in UP? Whether it is BJP or its terrorist wing RSS they have made they target Muslims before provincial or central elections.

               A few weeks ago mo0re than 50,000 Muslims were left homeless as their houses were destroyed in Assam. The genocide of Muslims in Tripura has not subsided that attacks started in Tamil Nadu. Muslims were tortured in Haryana during Friday prayers. The statements of Hindu extremist leaders show that in the upcoming days Muslims will have to face another genocide.

               Neither Pakistani media nor International media dares to give coverage to the genocide of Muslims in India. Now, this is the responsibility of Human Rights Organizations especially UNO to ensure the safety of the lives of Muslims in India…
